Fire Guts Christ Embassy Headquarters in Lagos: Millions in Property Damaged


A significant fire broke out at the headquarters of the Christ Embassy Church, owned by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, located in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, resulting in the destruction of property worth millions of naira.


The fire reportedly started in the early hours of Sunday and quickly spread through the church premises, causing extensive damage. Multiple videos capturing the scene were shared on social media, depicting the scale of the blaze and the efforts to contain it. One video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) by user @Guavv918 stated, “JESUS CHRIST... I just got to church. And the building is on fire. Christ Embassy Church.. Head Quarters (CELVZ) Billings way Ikeja is on fire. Love World Convocation Arena is on fire. God have mercy.”

The fire resulted in substantial damage to the property, with estimates suggesting that millions of naira worth of assets were lost. The church, known for its significant role in the religious community, hosts numerous events and services, making the incident a considerable blow to its operations and
